Hazel Grace Lancaster, sixteen years old.

Or just Hazel, as she likes to be called. My first impression, after reading a few very interesting chapters of her life, let's call it, is that she is no ordinary girl. I feel this sort of strange connection with her. Somehow, she is a bit like me. Of course, I am talking about her personality. Because she is a sick girl, unfortunately. She does this unusual comments about things that, might sound awkward to some people, but that are somewhat normal to me. She likes to read books, so, even if she did not say that, I noticed it because of the way she talks. She is really good with words I'd say.
And then there is this part of her that thinks about how we are all going to die someday, and that, that is okay. I think the same way. But unlike her, I do not think about it as often as she does. But after all, she is, indeed, very sick.
I have to give extra credits to this girl, even though she is fictitious, there are probably, many like her in the real world, struggling with a desease like hers, but maybe not as lucky as her to have a boy (very hot, according to her) that has a crush on her. Augustus, the guy that fell in love with her, is a cancer survivor. And, in a way, I would say, he is the male version of her.
